What is Bobby Roode’s Net Worth?
Bobby Roode has a net worth of $1.5 million. He built this fortune through a professional wrestling career that spanned over two decades, most notably as a main event star in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and later as a champion in WWE.
Roode’s wealth is primarily derived from his long-term contracts with major wrestling promotions. During his 12-year tenure with TNA, he was one of the company’s highest-paid “originals,” securing multiple world heavyweight and tag team championships. This success translated into a valuable contract when he signed with WWE in 2016. In WWE, his “Glorious” persona became a major merchandising success in NXT, where he held the NXT Championship. His income was further supplemented by main roster pay, championship bonuses for his reigns as United States and Tag Team Champion, and earnings from high-profile events. Following a career-ending injury, Roode transitioned into a stable, salaried position with WWE as a backstage producer.
Early Life
Robert “Bobby” Roode Jr. was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Growing up in an athletic environment, he played minor hockey and served as a stick boy for the local major junior team, the Peterborough Petes. He attended Kenner Collegiate Vocational Institution. After deciding to pursue a wrestling career, Roode trained under fellow Canadian wrestlers Scott D’Amore, Shane Sewell, and Val Venis.
Career
Bobby Roode began his professional wrestling career in 1998, working for various Canadian independent promotions. He also worked a series of enhancement matches for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now WWE, between 1998 and 2004 before being signed by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Roode’s 12-year run in TNA established him as a top-tier talent. He initially gained prominence as a member of Team Canada, where he won the NWA World Tag Team Championship with Eric Young. After the stable dissolved, he adopted a “Wall Street stock trader” gimmick as “Robert Roode Inc.” His greatest success in the company came when he formed the tag team Beer Money, Inc. with James Storm. The duo became five-time TNA World Tag Team Champions and are recognized as the longest-reigning champions in the promotion’s history. Roode’s TNA career peaked when he turned on Storm to win his first TNA World Heavyweight Championship, holding it for 256 days—the longest reign in the company’s history at that time.
In 2016, Roode signed with WWE and debuted on its NXT brand. His “Glorious Domination” theme song and persona made him an instant star, leading to a reign as the NXT Champion. He moved to the main roster in 2017, capturing the WWE United States Championship. Roode also found significant success in the tag team division, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship first with Chad Gable and later with Dolph Ziggler. He and Ziggler, known as The Dirty Dawgs, also won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
Roode’s in-ring career was halted by a series of neck injuries that required fusion surgery. In 2024, he officially confirmed his retirement from active competition. This change led to a new role within the company, and he now works full-time as a WWE producer, helping to structure matches and television segments.
Personal Life
Bobby Roode is married to his wife, Tracey Roode, whom he wed in 1995. The couple resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and they have three sons: Bobby III, Riley, and Nicholas.
